Holiday

My family and I light fireworks on our cultural holiday named Diwali. It's a holiday we so dearly respect. The meaning and purpose of this holiday is the festival of lights. We gather and we alight many majestic fireworks which shoot up across the sky. Not only does my family alight fireworks, but also the greetings of others encounter us. We go to the holy temple that consists of our religion and they so join us in the celebration of Diwali.

When I first saw Mrs.Caroll I thought she was really nice. After being with her for a long time, I sitil think she is a nice teacher. I like to eat pizza a lot. My favorite sport is basketball and my favorite item in my house is my iPod. I like to write and my favorite subject is English. I want to be a doctor and rich when I grow up. I want a mansion. I enjoy playing video games and games on my iPod. I type fairly fast and I LOVE weekends and VACATION!!! Those are the best times of my life. I still love my teachers, though.

New years

I celebrate New Years in this time of the year. What my family and I do is that we go to a park and we not only watch but light fireworks. We also gather around and enjoy some mouth-watering food. We have New Years cupcakes, pizza, and many more! It's one of the only times of the year where my family and I get together for the whole day and have some family time and I sure do enjoy it!

Narrative Writing

Have you ever had an annoying sibling, cousin, or even a friend that you just simply just can’t stand no matter how hard you try? Well, I have and I dislike my cousin a lot. Although she is young and very irritating to be around with now, she still my cousin and I know that. Just like many other people who have a sibling, I started out liking her but at the end; it didn’t turn out what you wanted it to be. I’ve learned my lesson. My cousin and I both have mixed emotions about each other to this day. First, when I was in India, I would go to her house maybe once a week. But in a quick period of time, it became a daily routine of my day. I would go and play with her as soon as I could. I was extremely happy when she came over to my house, but that wasn’t very often mainly because her mom, my aunt, thought she was still too little and not mature enough. “I am sorry I hurt your feelings but I can’t leave her alone, maybe when she is older and more mature she can come” my aunt would say. I would be depressed but then I’d remember that I was still going to have fun with her whether she came or I went. Once, I had just came home from a hysterical party which I had enjoyed a lot and I had just received news that my cousin-sister had finally gotten the freedom to pay a visit to my house although her mom was there. When I heard that exciting news, instead of going bizarre at the moment, I froze and stopped to think this was all a silly prank that was being pulled on me. I doubted myself when I saw a dark, thin, and a small shadow approach the steps to my door. My heart beat was rushing with adrenaline and I bet if we had a system to check, my heart beat would be going off the chart. Slowly by the second, it came to the steps. It was my cousin-sister! I felt like I was going to fall. I did fall but not the way I wanted it to happen. I, without thinking and looking at the obstacles in my way, dashed towards the figure that was my cousin-sister. I sprinted so fast that when I tripped over the stiff, rocky curb of the sidewalk, my forehead headed for the direction of the point of the steel fence. The fence pierced through my skin like a ravage wolf. At first, my family who had witnessed the event thought that it was a minor cut but when they saw the crimson-colored blood trickle down my face, they knew it was a major injury and they began to worry. I didn’t remember anything after that because I was unconscious. But all I could recall was that I had to be rushed straight to the emergency room in the hospital. I also knew that I had stiches on my forehead exactly where I thought my wound was. That was how much I used to adore and love my cousin. Things weren’t the same afterwards. Now I have grown up and I realize that I don’t share the same kind of relationship anymore. When I went to India for the second time that was when the change had occurred. When I had got there, I noticed that she was the only one that didn’t care for my return. She never shared, she annoyed me constantly, and she would copy every movement I did just to get on my nerves which were about to pop. She also corrected every mistake I made in our indian language. I tried to explain to her that I came from America and that I don’t know that much but she would ignore me. I wished she came to America, then I would correct every mistake she made in English. I didn’t have the same kind of enthusiasm when I went to her house now. In fact, I didn’t even want to go but my mom forced me   Have you ever had a sibling, cousin, or even a friend who you simply can’t stand? Well, I do and I have a cousin that I dislike very much. Although she is young she still can be irritating to be around with. She caused me a lot of pain when I was little. She hurt me not only physically but emotionally, too. We did have changed feelings for each other to this day. Before, when I was little, I loved her almost more than I loved myself. My love for her was unexplainable. I suddenly had a change and started to dislike her more and more by the second. First, I lived in India and I would go to her house once a week. Soon, it became a daily routine of my day. I would go and play with her as soon as I could. I was overwhelmed whenever she came to my house. But she wouldn’t come that often because her mom, my aunt, thought she was still too young.

ARE YOU PROUD OF YOUR COUNTRY?

ARE YOU PROUD OF YOUR COUNTRY?
PATRIOTISM! PATRIOTISM! PATRIOTISM! I hear it everywhere. But where do I hear it you ask? I hear it when talks arise about war, government, and most importantly, the nation. If you ask me if I am proud of my country, without a doubt, I will say yes. Why shouldn’t anyone not be proud of their country? It has done many things for us. For example, the presidents in the past have fought wars, left bloodsheds, and have even died to save us and our country. They have helped us gain freedom. George Washington has been the leader of our country during the revolutionary war against the British. That is one of the many reasons why we call him the father of our country. The thirteen original colonies, without any powerful weapons or any experience in war, knocked off one of the most powerful country in the world at that time, Britain. That is why we still have freedom till this day. In fact, if it wasn’t for all these debates and wars, we probably still would be working for the British as slaves. If you really take a second and think about all that this country has done for us in the past, you would be feeling so lucky that you have this kind of life in this kind of world. Abraham Lincoln fought in the civil war and even though many doubted his abilities and intellect and thought that those traits wouldn’t help him in winning the war, he still did the impossible. He’s the reason we are not slaves right now. It is not just the past, it is also the present. For example, our current president, Barack Obama, had set up a plan to kill one of the most dangerous terrorists, Osama Bin Laden. Many thought that he couldn’t get the job done but the brave and courageous Navy seals set foot and laid an end to Osama Bin Laden. They have made the world a safer place. As you can clearly see, I am proud of my country and that I want you to be too.

HALLOWEEN

Hi again. I love Halloween . In Halloween, I do many things such as go trick-or-treating, eat a lot of candy when i get home, and of course, I go to parties. Many other people do the same things as well. This Halloween, I picked a very special costume. It's the scream costume. I wore the same costume last year as well, and I'll tell you this, EVERYONE was scArEd!!!!!!!!!!!! I even made two kindergarten kids cry! What my family and I are going to do tonight, is, go to a party, go trick-or-treating, and then gobble all the candy up as fast as I can. As you can see, I am going to have a great Halloween this year just like I do every year!!!
